Appreciating your best friends.
Appreciating your best friends.
Well, I am sure you have had your share of problems or obstacles today to work through as I have.
” Problems create Value and also opportunity in our lives because they are our best friends”
1. Negative
The average person views problems as negative: bad things that happen. Problems and obstacles are to be avoided because of the pain they cause. We often feel that this shouldn’t be happening ….to me of all people!! If we are totally honest we have all felt weighed down when things don’t go as we had hoped and planned.
How can we create solutions here? There seems to be no way out. Complaining about the problem produces no answers. “You cannot create a solution with the thinking that created the problem”. (Einstein). Change your stinking thinking and the answer is often right in front of you.
Tonight on TV there was a debate about the aged pension. One lady expressed that the pension was fantastic and had found by being frugal she was still saving money and donating to charity, even on a meager pension. It was interesting that her detractors totally disagreed with this lady citing their dissatisfaction and sacrifices to lifestyles! Yet they showed one lady who was 84, and recently widowed, who had gone online and created a solution and was bringing in an income to supplement her pension!!
2. Positive
There are those who view their problems as positive: an opportunity to move forward, create value, and break through those giant obstacles that stop us in our tracks. Some folks love problems as they thrive on creating solutions. They know that without the problems they wouldn’t see the results they are creating along the way because of the problems.
The bottom line is how do we handle our problems? Its how we view these problems. I just love this quote, as it’s so powerful: “As a man thinks in his heart so is he”.
Why is it sometimes when we become focused on a goal or dream and even when you have developed laser focus… it seems that problems just appear. One writer asks, “Do problems hide in the shadows, poised to pounce, just waiting for someone brave to start achieving their goal?“
If we take the attitude that problems are our best friends, then when problems do inevitably come they become friends, counseling us to think creatively, “outside the square”.
“The more problems you can solve, the more valuable you will be, the more money you will make and the more responsibility you will have.” Brian Klemmer
Maybe we need to ask for more problems in our lives. More problems to be our best friends to stimulate us to better thinking.
Make it a terrific day
So what are you thoughts…. please share

Hi Kaye,
So true, its all in your attitude to things that counts. I like that concept that problems are our best friends, they are here to teach us something or guide us in a particular way.

Great post Jean. Solving problems not only brings the solution but many time it builds and improves ones character. Along with problem solving comes wisdom. Wisdom to be passed on and shared with others to help lighten their load.

Hi Kaye
What a lightbulb moment I had reading your post about challenges…problems, obstacles, difficulties, barriers…whatever you call them, they actually represent an opportunity for you to overcome an issue and re-claim your personal power!
Thinking about it more, I have often cited lack of funds as the main reason for not being able to do something. So have others; in fact in these times of recession where austerity measures are all you hear about on the news and in media on a daily basis, it is not hard to figure the source of people’s anxiety about their basic security needs in life…a safe, clean place to live, money coming in, a secure job, providing food and comfort for their family.
Actually the prevailing mindset is one of SCARCITY, most of us are guilty of having developed a scarcity mindset that we cling to and that, in torn, becomes our psychological crutch and it disables our potential like no other. It is driven by fear and insecurity, and that notion is not hard to figure since it is all around us every day.
Kaye I want to thank you for your words of enlightenment to me, for your support and empowerment of others and for showing so many that there is a way, no matter what…I wish you all the very best in your quest to release those stifled by all the hard knocks that life throws down in our path
Warmest regards
Nina

Thanks Nina, I would agree we dont understand the struggles we are face. By change our perspective we can grow, learn and develop. One thing my husband says that no experience we have is ever wasted, as its building and developing our character to be the person we are today. The other day I was listening a speaker when he said we are bombarded with lack everywhere, everyday, whether its our environment( there is not enough to go around), major events like famine, floods leaving devastating needs. We take on the scarcity mentality that there is never enough and there is a shortage everywhere. This effects our abundant mindset whether conscious or subconsciously. ( this doesn’t mean we ignore these issues) Having an abundant mindset is a choice and as a result we can make a huge contribution to this world.
